Shale Oil Information Center Poses Questions To Bureau Of Land Management
August 15, 2005. James E. Edwards, Jr. from the Colorado State Office of the Bureau of Land Management has answered several of the questions that our Center's President, Juan A. Granados, sent to him concerning the solicitation of nominations of parcels to be leased for research and development of oil shale. A transcript of their correspondance is now available.
Much Needed Energy Bill Signed By President Bush.
"Oil Shale, Tar Sands, and Other Strategic Unconventional Fuels Act of 2005" is included in the bill.
August 8, 2005. President George Bush finally signed into law the Energy Policy Act of 2005. The House of Representatives passed the Energy Policy Act of 2005 by a vote of 275 - 156, and the U.S. Senate by 74 -26, late last month. The ceremony took place in Alburquerque, New Mexico at the Sandia National Laboratories.
The Energy Policy Act of 2005 contains provisions for the further research and the development of our nation's Oil Shale and Tar Sands resources in Section 369 of the Act, whose short title is the "Oil Shale, Tar Sands, and Other Strategic Unconventional Fuels Act of 2005".Shale Oil Information Center has made the text of the "Oil Shale, Tar Sands, and Other Strategic Unconventional Fuels Act of 2005" available for viewing.
