Our Mission Statement

The business and purpose of the Shale Oil Information Center is to disseminate knowledge; focusing on the history of the extraction of oil from U.S. Oil Shale and U.S. Oil Sands through the operation of an institute, to collect and preserve objects of scientific, historic, artistic, and educational interest; to provide facilities to offer opportunities for aesthetic enjoyment, training, research, educational and cultural advancement and learning.

Shale Oil Information Center emphasizes the importance of the oil shale and oil sands resources to the future wellbeing of the population of the United States, its transportation system, its economy and its National Security, and the importance of its responsible development.

Our Leadership

The center is under the direction of Mr. Juan A. Granados, who is the principal member of the Center. The Center also operates under the guidance and counsel of various pro-bono consultants who are acknowledged experts in their respective fields. These cyberpages are the generous donation of Mr.Ian Merkel from Miami, FL. And the Center also counts with Eduardo G. del Valle, Ph.D as its most recent addition to the leadership of the organization.
